The importance of being Lee

Writer: Lee KennyLee Kenny

Close some doors today. Not simply because of pride, incapacity or arrogance but simply because they lead you nowhere

Living with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Ehlers Danlos in a chaotic, yet creative mind

Let me introduce myself to you. My name is Lee, I live in the absolutely breathtaking county of Cornwall. I have lived here since the age of 6. My father was in the RAF and my mother was in the army. We came to Cornwall, where my father's last posting was at Portreath.

I live and work in a small town called Camborne. Camborne is known for it's heritage. The great Richard Trevithick grew up here, one of the first designers of the steam locomotive . The town was a hive of activity due to the local mining community, miners lived in the town and worked at the local mines.

Camborne has some outstanding beauty spots including Heartlands in Pool, Tehidy Woods, Carn Brea and Pendarves Woods.

Camborne was brought to media attention during the airing of a documentary by Simon Reeve highlighting the fact that Camborne is one of the most deprived areas of the UK, with many individuals and families turning to the local foodbank for support.

Despite the struggles within the community, Camborne is a really lovely place to live and have brought up my two boys here.

Living with Fibro and ME (Chronic Fatigue)

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Me and Ehlers Danlos about 9 years ago. Slowly, over time my mobility has become a struggle. I now walk with a crutch as I often lose my balance and fall over. It's so very hard to remain positive when you are in constant pain, but am working on my outlook on life.

Creativity is seeing what everyone else has seen, and thinking what no one else has thought.

I am so lucky to have been able to develop my creativity and use it as an outlet when times have been tough. I currently work for the NHS as well as running my own business and being able to show off my ideas and creations has been my way of staying positive. It's a constant work in progress but I absolutely love what I do.

Creativity is intelligence having fun

I'm constantly working on new ideas and will be adding downloadable designs and svg's to my shop as well will be looking at hosting some workshops for crafters to learn new crafts, so watch this space! If you would like to be informed of upcoming events, please click the Subscribe button.
